Just like in China.
By Tank
I bought this in the U.S. after having lived in China for several years. It keeps the spicy and cool sides separate and is made of fairly thick metal, not the cheap thin kind sometimes sold in grocery stores.

Round center divider came off after a few months
By Alison
It transfers heat very well and heats up really fast. I use it on top of a table gas stove for hotpot and it heats very well. This type of pot definitely works. But there is a problem with this particular model - the round center divider of our pot started peeling off after some use. It appeared to be glued onto the bottom of the pot - although we could not identify what kind of glue it was. I guess repeated heating melted the glue. It is definitely a safety concern. We peeled the center divider off completely, washed all the glue off the bottom of the pot, and continued using the pot.We used another table-top hotpot before which has divider running right though the center, dividing the pot to two halves. The divider on that pot never came off or never even leaks. We will go back to that model if we need to buy another one.

The build is OK.
By Irene
The pot makes a loud noisy when you put it on the induction stove. It is very annoying. You wouldn't want it. Not recommend!
