The TRUE Induction Cook top is an energy efficient portable induction cook top that offers the prefect union of sleek design and advanced technology. With quick response times, even heating and instant heat adjustments-True Induction offers a state of the art cooking experience while being the pinnacle of safety.
Induction cooking does not generate heat. Induction cooking energizes the molecules of the pan itself*, so the pan heats up but the cooking surface does not. True Induction portable cookers are safe because there are no open flames; the counter top induction unit heats the pan(s) and food at chosen temperatures (between 150° F - 450° F)- not the entire area.
It's powered by a standard kitchen 120V outlet. This dual induction cook top has built in power sharing technology. If you are only using one burner, that burner can utilize the full 1800 watts. As you turn on the other burner the system automatically balances the available 1800 watts between the two burners depending on the heat settings. Traditionally, double cook tops are built at 1800 watts and just shares the power equally between the two burners at 900 watts each. This leaves wasted potential cooking power. The True Induction allows you to full use all 1800 watts!
Additionally, the digital touch panel is conveniently located on the top of the model so there is no strain to find knobs or functions. There are no crevasses, lips, plastic or separators on the surface; even around the controls. It is all one solid piece of glass making clean up simple and quick.
*Induction requires pots and pans that are made of ferrous (meaning magnetic) materials. Optimal cookware has a flat bottom and a diameter of 4.5" - 10" inches. Quick test for induction compatibility: A magnet should be able to stick to the bottom of the pan. If it can it will work.

A good starter Induction top. Not like a full range,
By Bil Lowry
We are planning a kitchen overhaul and I bought one of these to let my wife experiment with induction cooking before we install a full induction range. Our home is all electric so gas isn't an option. She loved it from the get go. Very little adjustment really since she had been cooking on an electric range for years. But be aware, since this is 110 volt unit, it doesn't have near the power of a full 220 volt range. It splits 100% of its power between the two burners. You can run one burner at 100% and the other at zero.. ...both burners at 50%....or one at 70% and the other at 30%. You get the point. And...you really need 100% to sear or fry, so its mostly a one burner unit.Still... We love it and when we get our new induction range, I'll move this portable unit to my RV.

Saved our life during renovation
By Ann Riner
I purchased this cooktop over a year ago on amazon, but for various reasons, never used it until recently. We are in the middle of a major renovation, and have had no range for a month. This cooktop has saved our lives. I have cooked every meal on it and really given it a workout.I use my cast iron and cast enamel Le Creuset cookware and everything works beautifully. When you plug item in, it beeps but does not come on until you hit a button on whichever side you are using. Be aware that level 10 is the top level, but I have never had to go above 5 for a quick boil. Also, level 10 is the max for the entire cooktop: if one burner is on level 6, the max you can use on the other burner is 4. I start a burner on 5 and then adjust down after the pan is fully heated. I usually cook most items at 2 or 3 (except true frying). I just love this cooktop and now know that, even when my new range is installed, I will make room for this wonderful cooktop often. You can use this anywhere you have power, and it can be set to the exact temperature required in your recipe, i.e. 325; and, you have a timer up to 150 minutes so that you do not have to monitor cooking as often. Any pot which will hold a magnet will work with this cooktop - I happen to have inherited some wonderful cast iron cookware that is over 60 years old - every time I use them, I think lovingly of my grandmother. I cannot answer question about cast iron with ridges, but I am sure the company could address that. I have used a large griddle across both burners with success and ease. When you remove your pan, the unit automatically shuts off - lots of safety features. It is easy to clean, a dream to use, keeps my kitchen cool, and would be a wonderful addition for anyone who does entertaining and wants extra serving/warming/cooking options. And, this baby will be wonderful for the holidays, giving you so many extra options when you really need them. As you can tell, I LOVE this double cooktop, and NO, I do not work for the company (glad amazon confirms regular customers who have actually purchased a reviewed item). Hope this helps other people thinking of induction.

Review UPDATE !!!
By R. Wagner
The last review I wrote was crappy because I paid extra $$ and it never got here when expected. The truth is that FedEX was the one that screwed up by leaving it at the store next to the UPS Store because it hadn't opened yet. There it sat for three days until I claimed it today.I'm very content with the product.. but be aware that you can't run both burners at #10 at the same time because it would consume 3,600 watts and blow your circuit breaker. Instead it's to understand that the product is capable of taking the 1800watts and dividing it.. If you put the right on 7 the highest the left can go is 3 and vice versa.. Buyer needs to understand this and the reasoning behind it. My top of the line microwave only takes 2,000 and there's little chance it would work for long with my 5amp vacuum cleaner running on the same circuit too. I'm sure some dingbat will find a reason to complain about this but for me it makes perfect sense and should be also included in the description.I also have a single burner 1300 watt Fagor product which doesn't even come close to the speed that this double dude can boil water in just 3 minutes like my built-in Electrolux unit so I would recommend it to those living in tight quarters and don't have the luxury of 240v hookups.Yes, this is cheaper to run than a standard Electric or even a Gas stove. Probably why they're already so popular in Europe.
