Great for induction stove!
By Sharon K. Vogelsberg
As a long time home canner, I was concerned when we installed a new induction cooktop in our kitchen. None of my water bath canners would work on the cooktop since they were the old blue enamel type. I searched for something that would work and found another product, but it's capacity was only 4 qts. Really? When I last canned pickle relish, I made 44 qts. In two batches. So when I came across the Victorio VKP1130 Stainless Steel Multi Use Canner, I was thrilled. It holds 7 qts or 8 pints. I love the indicator on the lid that tells when to start timing the water bath processing based on your altitude and the clear glass lid is wonderful, too. Awesome product. I do have an 11 inch "burner" on my cooktop, so this canner is not more than 1" bigger in diameter than the burner on the induction cooktop. My cooktop is a GE Profile series with 5 burners.

Great quality - sticker issue
By Scottie
I have been looking for a high quality canner for some time after years of settling for less. This one costs nearly twice as much as the spotted enamel ones available at the big box stores, but the reviews were good - except for the giant, sticky label (more on that later) - so I opted for it.Amazon delivered it before the promised date (as usual!) and I used it yesterday to make Meyer lemon marmalade. I have a high performance gas range and even then, it took some time to get all that water up to boiling. A tip - start your water before you think you'll need it to boil and you should be fine. The rack is sturdy and kept my jars level as I lowered them into the pot and kept them level throughout the canning process. The lid is heavy and is vented. Steam began to come out on the sides of the lid, so I lowered the flame (as the manufacturer suggested) and it worked fine. Now on to that stinking, sticky, giant label. There is little I like less than paying for an item and dealing with a nasty label. Evidently the company has read the reviews and attempted to deal with the problem - not by finding alternatives suggested in past reviews but by adding a card with instructions on removing the monsterous offender. The card instructed me to use a hair dryer and aim it at the edge of the label as I slowly pulled it off. It took nearly ten minutes to do it, but it worked rather well, leaving only a few small areas of residual stickem. It would have been a five star if the manufacturer had remedied the situation by using a paper hang tag or non-stick label.

Watched Pot Boils
By Frugal Shopper
My older 1960 gas stove could not bring my previous 21 quart pot to boil. But this one did. The clear top, and temperature gauge make the job simpler. The rack sits high enough to facilitate the removal of the jars from the pot, and is made with heavy guage material providing greater stability.
