Three Types of Heat for Fast, Efficient Cooking
The Rapid Wave's design facilitates faster, more efficient cooking. Three types of heat--halogen, convection, and infrared--cook food thoroughly and evenly up to three times faster than a conventional oven. The 1300-watt oven quickly heats and cooks even frozen food, eliminating the need for thawing or defrosting. The tightly sealing lid ensures that heat and moisture stay inside the cooker, cutting cooking time and preventing energy waste. A steady base ensures that operation is always safe'.
Fries Foods without the Mess and Fat of Cooking Oils
The triple-action heat produced by the Rapid Wave "air-fries" foods without using fats or oils. This eliminates the need to keep oils on hand, make a mess, or add unnecessary fat to your meal. Even without oil, foods such as chicken wings or French fries end up browned and crisped on the outside, yet moist and juicy on the inside.
Two Removable Racks for Versatile Cooking
With two fully removable oven racks, the Rapid Wave lets you cook small items, like vegetables and hors d'oeuvres, at the same time. Or, by removing the racks, you can easily cook a large item such as a chicken or pot roast in the 12.5-quart pot. The pot and lid are transparent, so you can easily monitor how close your meal is to being done.

A novelty item, not so easy, not so fast and gigantic.
By Kiki
This item seems to be identical in many ways to the Sharper Image Super Wave oven as seen on television. It is very large and lights up the whole room like a UFO in your house, so I put mine on the deck when in use! But you can't really put that much in it. We have a family of 5. Very limited amount of space for actual food inside the unit. The first thing the teenagers and I prepared were some chicken fingers, which "air fried" rather quickly and were pretty good, though a little dry, but I chalked that up to leaving them in a little too long, since it was our first try at it.Next, I tried some fish(flounder). Definitely a learning curve. The cook fished quickly, it wasn't bad. However, I could only put 2 pieces in at a time, and this was a pain, since there are usually 4 or 5 of us eating (2 adults, unless dad's at work, and three kids). You have to remove the "grill" to get the fish out without breaking it up, and the grill is VERY hot--this made things rather difficult and scary. Then you have to put it back in with more fish. Way too much trouble. You can't really use a pot holder either, too unwieldy.Hamburgers--they were pretty good, fairly easy. i was getting better now, after the fish challenge. I fit 4 in at once, which was perfect, since dad was at work.A small chicken (%lbs). This was disastrous. They give you a grabber to pick up the wire rack, but there is no way you can flip a chicken in the middle of cooking--this thing is way too hot and dangerous for any kind of rotating/turning while cooking. We cooked it for hours(probably 3), and the thermometer was still giving us very uneven temperature readings. We finally decided to take it out. This was difficult since the grabber barely made it around the very hot chicken. The bottom was virtually raw. Disgusting. We saved most of the chicken and finished cooking it in our convection oven. I was glad I didn't try to put potatoes in there too--they would have been rendered inedible by the raw meat, I'm sure. They suggest a turkey breast, I really don't see how that would be possible or safe in any way.Cooking is really not much faster than the regular oven, or convection (which is definitely faster). The product is gigantic--we really don't have room for it in our galley style kitchen--much larger than a crock pot. I can't see how it saves energy, since as it cycled on and off, all the lights in the house would dim.Directions provided are dicey at best--not much information on how to really use it as far as recipes. Who buys Cornish game hens?Clean up is a pain. Basically, it's a big glass bowl. The item is so hot when you are finished there is no way you can accidentally touch any metal that's been in it and not get burned. I really didn't like working with this, it felt too difficult.Overall, it was fun for a few things (I'd do the burgers again, and maybe the fish) but a little too much trouble, and definitely too big, which made it hard to handle, as well, at the same time it was really too small to cook a decent enough amount of food at one time.I'd skip this and invest a little more in a nice countertop convection oven. This is a gimmicky item.

BUYER BEWARE ALERT - Customer Service does not support its product.
By LE
Boss wave arrived with broken bowl base the plastic part that the bowl sits in and has the handles. I called support for a replacement - was told initially that one would be on its way no charge. I did not receive an order number or anything.I felt I should do a follow up call. Called the next day and there was no record that I even called, requested again to have one sent out was told it would be taken care of waited 2 more days and called back to see if indeed it was on order. Was told this time they have NO replacement parts for the system AT ALL, they do not support parts for this product and there is no way to get any replacement parts. She said I could send the whole system back at my fee and they would send out a complete new system. Well to ship from Hawaii the shipping would be about the same as ordering a new system. The weight of this rapid wave oven would not really be cost effective for anyone to pay for shipping back in my book as it is quite heavy!I did order from Amazon and yes I could have sent back to them but my husband tried to glue the bowl base together (just so I could use until supposedly the replacement part from manufacture was being sent since initially they said it was on its way) so therefore was not applicable to return to Amazon. Bottom line there is absolutely NO customer support for this item whatsoever. My husband's gluing job with JB weld has held up well so I guess that is what I am stuck with. Will sand down the ruff ridges and paint with black gloss paint and call it go I guess? I would never ever and I repeat NEVER purchase an item from this manufacture again. BUYER BEWARE once something malfunctions with this rapid wave oven that you cannot repair yourself consider it a throw-a-way!I would give it a 3-4 Star for performance and ZERO for product support.

One of my best buys
By niqaj
4 stars only coz it doesnt cook evenly. I have to constantly open it and flip whatever im cooking just to cook all sides BUT, I STILL LOVE IT. Healthiest choice I ever made. It cooks everything!!!!!! it toasts too. I rarely use my stove and oven except to cook soup but all else, I use this. Its cooks bacon beautifully. I reheat my pizza here and its still crunchy. Its a bit of a chore cleaning it up coz its heavy but what i do is i put a foil plate on the bottom to catch the oils and the grease so cleaning is kept to a minimum. I love this.
