Good size, induction-ready, space between pasta insert and pot
By lrt
>>Good size (12 qts is probably the biggest most people will need for pasta and stock; 8 qts is enough for many, 20 qts is huge) and apparently good build quality.>>Works well on induction cooktop.>>Space between bottom of pasta insert and bottom of pot is a somewhat larger than I'd like (have to add a fair amount of water before the pasta inserts start being submerged), so it takes a little longer to heat up, but the added water volume adds thermal inertia and helps keep pasta water hot when you add a lot pasta. On an induction range water heats up fairly quickly, anyway, and if you're making a lot of pasta (the purpose of such a big pot), the extra water is not a big deal. I use a Kuhn Rikon 4th Burner Multipot instead for small amounts of pasta (also a good product).>>Handles feel quite solid, but the lack of a good-sized rivet head on the inside of the pot is not reassuring. Haven't had any hint of problem yet, though.>>Wish it had a steamer insert, though the space between the bottom of the pasta insert and the bottom of the pot probably makes it possible to use the pasta insert for steaming (haven't tried, though).

Value
By J. A. Reece
No, this is not an All Clad pot. Is an All Clad pot worth six times the price of this one? Only to a person in love with designer labels. The quality of it is similar to many famous brands. The bottom has a thick, flat plate. I use a glass top hob and the flatness of the surface is important. Handles are heavy and stand out well from the side. Plenty of room to handle the pot with pot holders. Several inches of space below the strainer basket makes use as a steamer a possibility.

Great

Works excellent with my induction unit. Very heavy duty. Easy cleanup! Very fine finish on the surface of the product.
