Many useful menu settings

I've used my rice cooker for about a week now and it has made everything flawlessly. I bought it for the brown rice, brown rice porridge and steel cut oats menu settings and each of these has turned out perfectly every time. The unit seems well made and about on par with my Zojirushi rice cookers. The five layer cooking bowl is thick and heavy with a very high quality nonstick finish. The instruction manual is clear and useful, with the operations being mostly intuitive. I use the timer function to wake up every morning with delicious steel cut oats just waiting for me in the kitchen. The brown rice porridge setting has been a lot of fun making different congee recipes, and I even made one with some Chinese medicinal herbs for a healing meal. If you want to eat healthy brown rice dishes, this is the rice cooker to buy as all others only have a white rice porridge setting (yuch) and this is the only one I have found that has a menu setting for steel cut oats. It makes better steel cut oats than I ever did on the stove, which I think might be due to the longer cooking time. Who cares, I'm just spoiled by this machine. Oh, it also has menu settings for slow cooking and baking bread. It's like the swiss army knive of rice cookers.

This rice cooker creates flavorful, perfect rice every time. We have used the mixed rice feature to make Okowa and the Ultra rice feature to make white rice. It is quite a bit more to pay for a rice cooker but is well worth it.

The Tiger JKJ-G10U is truly the best rice cooker I've ever owned. The flavor and texture of the cooked rice is outstanding. The warmer function preserves the outstanding flavor of the cooked rice as well.
