TRUE Induction is energy efficient portable induction cooking that offers the prefect union of sleek design and advanced technology. With quick response times, even heating and instant heat adjustments-TRUE Induction offers a state of the art cooking experience while being the pinnacle of safety.
Induction cook tops have been an upgrade feature for many high end homes due to their streamlined appearance and impressive functionality. Now, utilizing the same induction technology TRUE Induction offers portable units for a fraction of the built in cook top price. Available in both single and double units, these portable cookers are not old style "hot plates" but are electromagnet cooking vessels that quickly and evenly heat food with minimal energy output. Compared to electric and gas, induction cooking is far superior because the heat transfer is direct and instant.
TRUE Induction portable cookers are safe because there are no open flames; the counter top induction unit heats the pan and food at chosen temperatures (between 150° F - 450° F)- not the entire area.
The lightweight counter top induction units are easy to use requiring no learning curve. It's powered by 120V AC/ 60Hz and is power rated at 1600 watts - just plug it into a standard 110 outlet and you're set! Additionally, the digital touch panel is conveniently located on the top of the model so there is no strain to find knobs or functions. With TRUE Induction you'll never see cooking in quite the same way again.

Not what I expected
By Joe
I received the True Induction Cooktop within the promised shipping time. I knew that most of my stainless steel cookware was non-magnetic and not suitable for induction cooking. I have two cast iron frying pans, one is 10" and the other is 14" in diameter. I tested the cooktop with the 10" pan (which seemed to be the optimum size for this unit) but the cooktop only blinked its display indicating an error condition. I then tried the 14" pan and was able to get it to heat the pan. I put an inch of water in the pan to test the size of the heating area. I was very disappointed to discover that the diameter of the boiling area was only about 4". This cooktop was listed as being suitable for pans up to 10" in diameter but I never could find an actual specification that described the size of the induction element that is used. I concluded from my testing that this unit uses a ~4" coil like the other low-end units that sell for half of the price of this one. I sent the unit back and received a full refund including my shipping both ways. I subsequently purchased a 30" Bosch induction cooktop which has one element described as 11". It creates a boiling pattern at least 11" across in my 14" pan. My main complaint is that the True Induction cooktop literature is not specific about the actual size of the heating zone and the impression is created that it differs from lower-end units by having a larger heating zone.

Best of breed
By AOL Jack
Before ordering this I read reviews on pretty much all of the induction hot plates I could find. All others fell short in one way or another. This one seemed to be the best choice. So I ordered it. It does pretty much everything its advertised to do. I really like it for the most part. The controls are all very light touch based. It took me several days of experimenting with various touches to get to the point where I could get the controls to respond with out lots of extra touching. This was anoying. The fan in the unit is also very loud when its running. The temurature control really only allows you to pick 10 levels of heat reguardless of whether you are in the tempurature or intensitiy mode. All of that said and done it works well. Its at least as fast to boil water as a gas stove and whatever heat level you pick it gets there very quickly. Having had a chance to use conmercial units a couple of times, has caused me to have very high expectations though. I cannot give it the five stars many others have given it. Its pretty good but it could be better.

Modern looking kitchen equipment
By Mochalover
I needed an extra burner and this meets my needs. I wanted to use it primary for pasta at the sink. Boiling on my regular cooktop, the moisture covers the microwave above it even using the fan. It is also difficult to carry a heavy, hot pot to my sink.It looks modern enough to leave out in my kitchen so it's ready to use but compact enough to store in the pantry. I already had stainless steel cookware so I don't need any special pans to use on it.It has other uses besides my intended use.
