These are an absolutely incredible unit

These units are very good. Much better built and much better quality than any of the other induction cooktops that I have seen reviews on and the price is very comparable as well. If you want to see the reviews on this unit from where Amazon has to get them from, you can go to webstaurantstore website. While I did not buy this particular model, I did buy the IC 1800 through webstaurantstore which unfortunately you cannot get through Amazon as of yet. It also is 120 volt unit. It is a little bigger than the BT-M20 but sturdier and better control for a difference of $54. more. The only plastic on the IC-1800 is the plastic knob. These units have an aluminum structure with a ceramic top the same as a flat top cook stove would have.On the IC 1800 model there are 15 settings from 500 watt - 1800 watt. If you hit the HEAT/HOLD button it will switch over to an acutual temperature control where you can adjust the Temp. settings from 140 deg. F - 460 deg. F in 10 deg. increments by turning the control knob. The Temp. that you set it to will hold with good stability. These units are very quick to adjust to any temperature you set it to. The TIMER can be set from 5 minutes to 175 minutes. When you set the timer the unit will shut off when the timer runs out so there's no need to worry about it if you got distracted to something else or fell asleep. The timer is adjusted in 5 minute increments. If you are not using the timer, this unit will shut of after 175 minutes anyway as a safety feature. Most of the OTHER induction cooktoops that I have read about on Amazon, there have been numerous complaints with them. Not working for very long, plastic on the cooktop melting on the outside edge of the magnetic coil area if the pot or pan was larger than the the marked out area, units coming apart from the plastic seams, very few control settings, 1300 watts not being enough power, animals who jump up on counters turning units on when they hit the soft touch control, control panels getting too warm to touch etc. I would give these units 10 stars if it were an option. Well built, really good control and very safe. I have not come across any cons on these units at all. If I do, I will certainly post it!

I received this item as a gift. It does not seem to work. I am hoping that the keypad is locked, but unfortunately there are no instructions on how to unlock the keypad in the instruction manual.
