Sitram
Sitram France has produced professional grade cookware for over 40 years. It is favored by many of the world's top executive chefs and restaurants. We're glad to have Sitram available in the U.S.
Why do so many professionals around the world favor Sitram cookware? Sitram cookware is made in France, designed for commercial use. The factory is fully aware of the highest expectations that executive chefs place in their equipment, and continuously works with them to provide nothing but the best. Why would you want professional cookware? Oh, where do we start! How about "these pots and pans are virtually indestructible as well as dishwasher safe"?
There's more:
To pour drip-free, simply push the lever. Releasing the lever re-seals it. For easy filling and cleaning, the attached lid opens all the way.
Both lines offered here, Catering and Profiserie, are made of highest quality 18/10 stainless steel to guarantee even heat distribution. Since the base is composed of three thick layers of sturdy metal, they will never warp, yet Sitram cookware heats up quickly and retains heat extremely well.
Needless to say, Sitram's surgical-steel grade material won't discolor or alter the flavor of foods. Users around the world praise how smooth the interior remains even after years of rigid use.
The handles are multiple spot welded to provide superior durability and easy cleaning. The lids feature a small hole to vent: While it keeps liquids and flavors in, it lets just a tiny amount of steam out so that the lid doesn't vibrate top of a boiling pot. All pots, pans and lids are dishwasher safe, NSF* certified and come with a limited lifetime warranty.

Summer Stock
By Edward Marcus
Most of my cookware is from the All-Clad stainless steel line, as I require pots that are made of magnetic steel in order to work with my induction cooktop. I also like the workmanship of the All-Clad pots. I bought this Sitram stockpot after returning a similar pot by All-clad, having found, contrary to stipulation, that it was not induction capable. The Sitram pots are sturdy, durable, and perform as represented. They are not as perfectly finished as the pricey All-Clads, but this need not concern you unless you are a well-heeled perfectionist. While the Sitram pots have a thick steel-aluminum-steel sandwich in their base, the aluminum does not extend up the sides. The All-Clads claim to have an aluminum core throughout the pot, but in my experience this is not a vital distinction.I made my first batch of stock a few days ago using my new Sitram stockpot. I began by browning the chicken parts and onions in the stockpot on my induction cooktop, and can report that the Sitram pot performed admirably, distributing heat evenly throughout its base, and permitting an even and well-controlled browning of the food. Subsequent simmering of the stock also went very well.Given its attractive price and solid capabilities, I can endorse this Sitram cookware without reserve.

Good Saucepan
By C. Overton
I disagree with the previous reviewer, though I have not had to contact Sitram's customer service. That is because the Sitram pot I own (same line but 3.3 Quart) has performed flawlessly for 6+ years of regular use.Sitram pots/pans hava a terrific thick sandwiched base and it provides optimal heat dirtribution on both electric and gas cooktops. I havent had any problems with the construction. Don't hesitate to try one of these saucepans, especially at the low Amazon prices!

Good value,good construction, good choice
By Jackdaw
The thick aluminum disc is probably not necessary if you just want a pot to boil pasta (4 qt. is a pretty good size if you are cooking for one), but if you want to brown meat for a one pot stew it's great.
